It has been seven long years of preparation leading to a night of unbelievable technical and artistic marvel. While the technical glitch that occurred as the flame was lit will will long be remembered, so will the looks on the faces in the audience and among the competitors.
Words spoken by commentators working the event, made even the most disillusioned Canadian sit up and take notice of the respect Canadians enjoy around the world. A sense of pride came knocking on every Canadian’s door.
I may have more to say about the Olympics at a later time, but for today and for the next sixteen days, I will be crossing my fingers, waving the flag, watching Olympic Hockey and shouting:
“Go Canada Go!”
